My experience with wine has been pretty limited so far, but it’s something I’ve enjoyed exploring little by little. Neither of my parents really drink, so I wasn’t exposed to wine growing up. It wasn’t until I started trying different wines with friends that I realized how much variety there is. Now, I enjoy having a glass of wine with dinner every so often—it’s a nice way to unwind and make a meal feel a little more special.
Regarding my tastes, I’m still figuring out what I like. I’ve mostly stuck to lighter wines, like a Pinot Grigio or a sweet Moscato, but I’d love to branch out and try something bolder. Wine tastings have always sounded fun, though I haven’t had the chance to experience one yet. I feel like this class is the perfect opportunity to not only learn more about wine but also have a group of friends to share the experience with.
I’m especially excited to learn about the different types of wine and how to pair them with food. It would be great to understand how flavors complement each other and how to choose a wine that enhances a meal. I also hope to pick up some tips for identifying flavor notes so I can feel more confident when talking about wine. Overall, I’m looking forward to making some great memories in this class and deepening my appreciation for wine along the way.
